Why should I join CERT?

---Your community needs you. Join NYC CERT if you want an opportunity to:

0. Educate yourself, your family and others about preparing for emergencies
0. Help your neighbors in times of disaster
0. Strenghten your relationship with your community

How do I become a member?

---If you are 18 or older

0. If you live within our community, contact us
0. If you live in NYC but in a different community, contact OEM

I live in one neighborhood but work in another?

0. You should join the CERT where you live and after joining that team, you can let the CERT where you work that you are a member and available if needed

What type of training is available?

0. We conduct refresher training at our monthly meetings.
0. the primary training is an 11 week training given by OEM.
0. There are a variety of drills and training classes throughout the year.

Is there any cost?

0. There is a nominal annual dues to be a member of our team, otherwise there is no cost to participate or train.
